Our Story

Yelwa Farmhouse began in 2014 as a simple passion for animal care. What started as a small personal hobby for our founder, Aminu Labaran Yunusa, gradually grew into a lifelong commitment to farming and food production. In the early days, the farm had only a handful of animals — five goats, a few cows, rams, and sheep — all raised with care and close attention.

As the years passed, that passion turned into purpose. Through consistency, learning, and dedication, Yelwa Farmhouse evolved into a growing livestock production business, now home to hundreds of healthy, Halal animals raised using responsible and ethical practices.

Along the journey, we began partnering with cooperative societies, helping to supply their members with quality livestock for personal consumption. These partnerships strengthened our connection to the community and reinforced our belief that good farming should directly support people’s everyday lives.

Our farm is more than livestock. We nurture a vibrant orchard filled with oranges, mangoes, guava, bananas, and lemons, carefully selected and cultivated for quality and sustainability. We also grow millet, sorghum, maize, and groundnuts on a small scale, supporting local consumption and producing natural feed for our animals.

Today, Yelwa Farmhouse is powered by a dedicated team of about 50 employees, including women, whose skills and commitment continue to shape our growth. What began as a modest dream has become a living, growing enterprise — rooted in care, community, and a deep respect for agriculture.
